Roger L.
Baird
d. Jul 15, 2024
Roger L. Baird, 73, of Tiverton, passed away on his birthday, Monday, July 15, 2024 at St. Anne's Hospital following a long illness. Born in Pegnitz, Germany, he was the oldest son of the late Glenn Baird and Elisabeth (Buresch) Baird.
A United States Army veteran, he bravely and proudly served his Country. Prior to his retirement he worked as a foreman in the construction industry for many years. Roger loved fishing, the ocean, reading, trips to the casino, and living in Florida. His outgoing, friendly, often infuriating and always opinionated personality, endeared him to many and resulted in life-long, cherished friendships. To know Roger, was to love him.
Roger leaves behind his loving children, Christie Wiggin and her husband, Jeff, Brian Baird and his wife, Bonnie, both of Fall River, and Heather Geraghty of Rhode Island. He also leaves eight grandchildren, Coral Ferreira, Alex Baird, Bree Wiggin, Jacob Baird, Jace Wiggin, Rielle Wiggin, Sean Aquino, and Haily Wright; one great-grandchild, Aiden Aquino. Roger was the brother of Sharon Corder and her husband, David, of Florida, Willy Baird and his wife, Marion, Glenn Baird and his wife, Lisa, and Mark Baird, all of Rhode Island; and leaves many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Beatrice Shultz and the late Alethea Fusco.
In addition, Roger also leaves behind his beloved, long-time girlfriend, Mary Lou Sylvia, of Tiverton, and was the former husband of the late Debra (Hooker) Baird.
His funeral arrangements were private.
