Roland D. Marcoux, 84, of Somerset, husband of Linda (Corey) Marcoux, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Donat Marcoux and the late Loretta D. (Valcourt) Marcoux, he resided in Somerset since 1974 and had also lived in Tiverton for seven years.
Prior to his retirement in 2000, he was a quality assurance engineer with Raytheon in Quincy for about 10 years. Roland served his country honorably in U. S. Air Force during the late 1950s and was a former member of the Amvets Post 72 and the American Legion both of Somerset.
A former member of St. Thomas More Church, Roland was a longtime member and past president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. In recognition of his dedicated service to the church, he was awarded the Marian Medal. He enjoyed dancing with his wife and spending time with family.
Besides his wife, of 57 years, he is survived by: a daughter, Jana Mercier (husband Juston) of Fall River; three sons, Keith Marcoux (wife Wacharaporn) of Somerset, Dean Marcoux (wife Nicole) of Neiderofflingen, Germany, and Derek Marcoux (wife Michelle) of Swansea; a brother, Robert Marcoux of Clairemont, California; four grandchildren, Tamara Areias (husband Anthony), Janet Mercier, Daniel Mercier, and Bronson Marcoux; family member, Allyssa Mercier; three great grandchildren, Cameron, Elijah & Emilia Areias; and several nieces and nephews. He was also a brother of the late Jeanne Woodward and Claire Potvin.
His Funeral Service was held on Monday, November 21st, in our Somerset Chapel followed by his Committal with Military Honors at Nathan Slade Cemetery also in Somerset. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Roland's memory to the St. Thomas More Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 386 Luther Ave., Somerset, MA 02726.
