Ronald A. Bernard, age 71, died peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mary Virginia (Ladeira) Bernard of Fall River. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Armand G. Bernard and the late Marguerite (Messier) Bernard. Raised in Somerset, he was a graduate of the Somerset High School class of 1962. Employed for many years with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Environmental Management, Ron had served as the assistant superintendent of the Driscoll Arena in Fall River and was the superintendent of Horseneck Beach State Reservation in Westport until his retirement. In addition to "Ginny", his wife of fifty years, he is survived by his two daughters; Karen E. Bernard of Marietta, Georgia, and Mrs. Lori A. Gauvin of Fall River and her husband Christopher, his grandson and best buddy, Luke E. Gauvin of Fall River, whom he adored, a sister, Susan Bienvenue of Somerset, and several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, June 7th, in Holy Name Church followed by his committal at St Patrick Cemetery.
