Obituary

Ronald F. Cabral, 77, of Dartmouth, husband of Joan (Santos) Cabral, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Manuel S. and Maria S. (Medeiros) Cabral. A United States Army Veteran, he proudly served his Country during the Berlin Conflict. Prior to his retirement he worked in the construction industry (D&M Concrete) as a concrete engineer for many years.  He also owned his own business for many years, "Ronnie's Auto Repair" where customers (who became family) and friends would just stop by and chat because everyone was welcomed. He loved cooking, camping, his daily get-togethers with the "boys" at McDonalds, and working on anything mechanical. Also considered to be a "Snowbird", he very much enjoyed wintering in Florida with his loving wife.  A true "jokester" at heart, Ronnie loved cracking jokes and making people laugh. Besides his wife of fifty-six years, he leaves: his children, Kenneth J. Cabral and his wife, Jennifer, of Rumford, Rhode Island, and KimMarie Mercure and her husband, Ralph, of Lakeville ; seven grandchildren, Tyler J. Rocha, Shane S. Rocha, Joseph Barcellos, Nino Cabral, Alexis M. Mercure, Kailey E. Mercure and Brooke K. Mercure; two great-grandchildren, Serenity Barcellos and Violet J. Rocha; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Margaret Dunker. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, December 9th, in St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth. His burial arrangements were private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ron's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
