Obituary

Ronald "Ray" J. Raymond, Sr. was 88 years old at the time he peacefully passed away in his home surrounded by his family on November 9th, 2025. He was born in Fall River, MA to Joseph and Malvina (Charland) Raymond, who predeceased him. He spent most of his life in Fall River, building his career and family.

Ray was a Naval Reservist for 8 years, a Heavy Equipment Operator for the State of MA for 31 years while also working for Alden's Auto Parts doing warehouse logistics for 15+ years. Ray was driven, meticulous and loyal to his career - sometimes jokingly labeled as a workaholic but always prioritized his family.

He later retired to Rehoboth, MA where he could be found keeping busy by working on his  family's vehicles, camping at Horseneck Beach, taking lengthy bike rides and meeting for coffee with friends and of course paying meticulous attention to his lawn.

He is best remembered as the rock of his family; the loving, goofy and hardworking husband, father and grandfather.

Ray is survived by his wife Lorraine (Ferry) Raymond; his children, Ronald Raymond Jr. of Fall  River, MA and Catherine (Raymond) and her husband Richard Costa of Rehoboth, MA; his beloved grandchildren, Samantha and her husband Dashiell Choate, Seth Costa, Bradley Arujo, Kerrie and Katie; and many other loved ones and friends.

He met the love of his life, his wife Lorraine, at 16 years old. Even though Ray has passed, his family still honors 70 years of togetherness Ray and Lorraine would have shared in February  2026 - as love never dies and is continued through the hearts and memories of his spouse and family.

Following a private cremation, his family and friends are planning to celebrate his life with a private memorial service at Rehoboth Congregational Church.
