River River

Obituary

Rosa M. Pereira, 53, of Fall River, wife of Adriano Pereira, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 27, 2019. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Joao DeSousa and Maria Da Conceicao (Albernaz Miguel) Borges. She had a passion for cooking, loved to decorate and go shopping. Rosa also enjoyed hosting parties with her "million dollar" smile, going on cruises and vacationing in Florida. She ran several marathons, raising funds for cancer research. She was a very caring and kind woman who adored children. (And children adored her) But Rosa's greatest joy in life was her family, being very instrumental in raising her great-nephews, Ashton and Lucas. Her favorite quote was "love you to the moon and back". Rosa was loved by many and sorely will be missed. Besides her loving husband of thirty-one years, she leaves: her siblings, Leonor "Lee" Almeida and her husband, Duarte, Maria "Sue" Pereira and her husband, Jose, Carmen Seguin and her husband, Gary, Angel Borges, and Tony M. Borges and his wife, Lucy, all of Fall River, Lee Ann Elias and her husband, Louis, of Westport, Jose M. Borges and his wife, Maria Jose, of Providence, Rhode Island and John M. Borges and his wife, Ana, of Somerset; her father-in-law, Jose Pereira and mother-in-law, Sarafina Pereira of Fall River;  sister-in-law, Maria Ferreira and her husband, Luis, of Toronto, Canada; many cousins, godchildren, nieces and nephews, especially Dennis Borges, who was more like a son; and her cherished poodle, Luke. She was also the sister of the late Teresa Borges. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, July 3rd, in Santo Christo Church followed by her committal and entombment in the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Rosa's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105 or a charity of one's choice.
