Salvador
d. Feb 2, 2022
Rosa (Albernaz) Salvador, 84, of Fall River, wife of Manuel J. Salvador, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Charlton Memorial Hospital unexpectedly. Born in Remedios Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Francisco Albernaz and the late Trindade Arruda, she emigrated to New Bedford in 1968 and resided in Fall River for the past 50 years.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the local textile industry for many years, as a trimmer with Bomar, and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union ("I.L.G.W.U.") now called UNITE. She had also worked for a time with Columbia Electronics.
A devout Catholic and active parishioner at Espirito Santo Church, she was also a member of its Holy Rosary Society. Rosa enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family.
Besides her husband, of almost 50 years, she is survived by: a daughter, Maria Viveiros (husband Eduino) of Fall River; two grandchildren, Edwin Viveiros (wife Sarah) of Taunton and Kimberly Baldi (husband Michael) of Westport; two great grandchildren, Warren and Alexander Baldi (and one on the way); and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Leonilde Pimentel, Odilia Diogo, Henrique Albernaz, Maria Albernaz and Joao Albernaz.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, February 7th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
