Rose (Natale) Masciarelli, 101, died Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Clifton Rehabilitative Nursing Center, Somerset, MA after a brief period of declining health. Prior to moving to Somerset twelve years ago, she resided in Fall River, MA.
Born in Grazzanise, Italy in 1913, she was the wife of the late Dominic Masciarelli, daughter of the late Francesco and Giuseppina (Florio) Natale, and mother of the late Frank Masciarelli.
A parishioner of Holy Rosary Church, Rose also served as Vice-president of the Clifton Residents' Council. She was a vibrant, gregarious spirit with a penchant for hearty laughter and strong hugs. A talented cook and baker of her native Italian fare, she was the loving, adoring matriarch of four generations and person of devout faith. She lives in the hearts of all she touched.
She is survived by a son, George (wife Sally) Masciarelli of Salem, NH; daughter, Ann (husband Stephen) Seery of Swansea, MA; five grandchildren, David (wife Christy) Masciarelli, Stephen (wife Jennifer) Masciarelli, Lauren (husband Eric) Lydon, Lisa Seery, and Michael Seery. She also leaves seven great-grandchildren whom she cherished, Andrea, Drew, Lucas, Sarah, Ella Masciarelli, Matthew and Avery Lydon, and her many "best friends" at Clifton.
Rose's family would like to extend its sincere appreciation to the Greenwood family, the staff of Clifton Rehab Nursing Center, and Clifton Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion. Their dedication and friendship brought purpose to her later years.
Her funeral was private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Clifton Rehab Nursing Center Activities Department or Clifton Hospice, 500 Wilbur Ave., Somerset, MA 02725.
