Rose L. Schramm, 84, of Fall River, former companion of the late Sidney L. Trahan, passed away on May 30, 2023, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Norwich. CT, she was a daughter of the late Percy Alvin Drake and the late Nettie Belle (Main) Drake.
She was employed as a waitress at Harry's Restaurant for many years, while also working at the former Bradlees. She later worked at Walmart in Fall River for about 5 years, retiring in 2017. In her younger days, Rose enjoyed racing modified stock cars in the women's Powder Puff Derby. She enjoyed watching professional wrestling, going to flea markets, cooking and providing for her family.
Besides Rose's best friend, Emily Cordeiro (life partner of her late son, Sidney L. Trahan, Jr.), she is survived by: eight children, Everett Schramm, Jr (wife Roberta) of Old Lyme, CT, Patricia Connelly (husband Kevin) of Clinton, CT, Debra Young (husband Eugene) of Elizabethton, TN, Steven Schramm (wife Lisa) of Troutman, NC, Rose Sistare (husband Lance) of Montville, CT, Stacey Lynn (Trahan) Costa (husband Derek) of Fall River, Scott Trahan of Fall River, and Steve L. Trahan (companion Michelle Gonzalez) of Springfield, MA; three step-children, Richard L. Trahan (late wife Connie) of No. Dartmouth, Robert Trahan (fiancée Melanie) of Fall River, and Donna Arruda (husband Flo) of Dighton; two siblings, Rose's twin Jenny Drake and Nelson Drake; a happy multitude of loving & caring grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also: a sister of the late Maude Wilson, Richard, Claude, Raymond & Clyde Drake; and ex-wife of Everett Schramm of Tennessee.
Her Funeral Service was held on Thursday, June 8th, in the our Fall River Chapel followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
