Russell Dextradeur, 77, of Bedford Village Nursing Home, New Bedford, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, son of the late Joseph W. & Eva (Voule) Dextradeur, he resided in New Bedford for the past year. Prior to his retirement some years ago, he was a commercial fisherman for many years, and had also worked at the former Cherry & Webb. He is survived by: a daughter, Bernadette Borges (husband Fernando) of Fall River; a brother, Norman Dextradeur; 2 grandchildren, Melissa & Emily Borges; several nieces & nephews. Also brother of the late William Dextradeur and Phyllis Stafford; and former husband of the late Winifred (Smith) Dextradeur. Cremation arrangements were private. A Memorial Mass may be scheduled at a later time, and information concerning its date and time will then be posted at this website.
