Russell Norman Monast, 55, of Somerset, loving husband of Pauline (Belanger) Monast, passed away Saturday, August 20, at Rhode Island Hospital after a several-week stay. Born in Fall River, son of the late Roy N. and Lorraine (Couto) Monast. A graduate of Durfee High School, Russ worked as a Field Supervisor for Russco (retail general contractors) for many years. Russ enjoyed spending time reading, working in the yard, and taking care of his vehicles. What he mostly enjoyed was spending quality time with his family and friends. Russ was an avid Patriots and NASCAR fan spending many years going to the races. Besides his forever-loving wife, he leaves his daughter, Tracy A. Harrison of Somerset; his grandchildren, Darien A. Harrison and Kamden S. Allard; greatgrandchild Aryah J. Levesque; his two brothers Robert Monast of Cincinnati, OH and Douglas Medeiros and his wife Barbara of Westport; a Godchild Alyssa A. Daily; his best friend Jeff Baily; and several nieces and nephews and their extended families. We are sincerely grateful for all the help from his niece, Dawn M. Daily, for her loving support and care for Russell while he was in Rhode Island Hospital. Russ was taken from us too soon and will be greatly missed by all. His services were private.
