Ruth M. Costa, 83, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Monday after a long illness. She was the wife of Edward Costa, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Stonington, CT, daughter of the late John & Mariam (Pilkington) Perry. A devout catholic, she was an active parishioner of Holy Rosary Church and belonged to the Ladies Guild. She was a gifted seamstress and taught many how to sew. Ruth was the beloved mother of Deborah Courtemanche (husband – Thomas) of Fall River, Edward J. Costa of Fall River, Michael Costa (wife – Cindy) of Dartmouth and Laurie Costa (partner – Kathy Shulman) of Bolton, MA; sister of Mildred St. Laurent (husband – Raymond) of Fall River; twin sister of the late Richard Perry; grandmother of Blake and Jason; great grandmother of Natasha and Jadin; and aunt of several nieces and nephews. Her family would like to thank the health aides and nurses with Medical Resources and everyone at Bristol Elders, for all that they did for all of their help and support. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, September 26, in Holy Rosary Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
