Ruth 'Gerrie' Geraldine Shultz, age 67, of South Main Street in Fall River, passed away at the Somerset Ridge Nursing Center in Somerset, on Sunday, August 24, 2008, after fighting her illness courageously and for as long as possible. Employed by the State of Rhode Island, she worked in Providence for many years as an investigator for the Attorney General. Remaining active following her retirement from the State, she performed countless hours of volunteer work and enjoyed her membership in the Red Hat Society. A lover of nature and the enviroment, she especially appreciated the Atlantic Ocean and the beauty of the New England Coast. Gerrie was the proud mother of four children, Robert M. Levasseur of Minniesota, Sue Levasseur of Woonsocket RI, Paula-Jean Viveiros of Fall River, and Eva M. Levasseur of Cumberland, RI. She also leaves eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and her beloved pet "Kitty". Family, friends and all who knew her will sadly miss Gerrie. Her cremation was private.
