Salvador S. Pimentel, 83, of Fall River, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford. Born in Ponta Garca, Sao Miguel, Azores, a son of the late Manuel de Sousa Pimentel and the late Maria Jose (Moniz) Pimentel, he emigrated to Fall River in 1969. A soccer fan who lived and died for Benfica, he was also a big Red Sox fan. Salvador especially loved all his nieces and nephews, like the children he never had.

He is survived by: four siblings, Maria Eduarda Raposo (late husband Joao) of Fall River, Lucia Pacheco (husband Ildeberto) of Fall River, Maria Jose Salema (husband Manuel) of Keene, N.H., and Dionisio de Sousa of Fall River; and nine nieces and nephews, Danny Raposo, Paula Schonewolf, Duarte Pimentel, Sonia Barron, Nelson Salema, Melanie Pimentel, Kevin de Sousa, Karen Lebreux, and Jenny Sousa. Two siblings, Henrique Pimentel (wife Ermelinda of Beloiel, Quebec) and Gabriel Pimentel, predeceased him.

Following a private cremation, His Memorial Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, April 27th, at Santo Christo Church in Fall River.
