Sarah Viveiros (Diogo) Medeiros, 76, of Fall River, died Thursday at the Catholic Memorial Home after an extended illness. Widow of Leonardo T. Medeiros, and daughter of the late Adelino and Maria (Viveiros) Diogo. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, she emigrated to Fall River in 1967 and was naturalized as a U.S. Citizen in 1979. She worked for Shelburne Shirt Co. and greatly enjoyed gardening. Sarah is survived by sons, Adelino "Al" D. Medeiros and Luis D. Medeiros, both of Westport, and Tony V. Medeiros of Shelter Island, NY; sisters, Leonora Tavares of Fall River and Berta Medeiros of Somerset; grandchildren, Alison, Emilie, Isaac, Abra and Lily Medeiros; and several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Adelino, Luis, Eduardo, Jose and Manuel Diogo, Gilda Medeiros and Maria Ines Da Camara. Her Funeral Mass was offered on Monday (11/5) in Espirito Santo Church with committal services following at St. Patrick Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Carvalho, John Carvalho, Jr., Sandy Carvalho, Everett Medeiros, Jeff Medeiros and Marcolmo Medeiros. Also in attendance was a delegation representing the American Legion.
