Sarah Rego, 98, widow of David Rego, passed away on April 25, 2023 at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Americo Leite and the late Ermelindo (Carvalho) Leite. She last resided in Tiverton, RI but spent most of her years as a resident of Fall River.
She was a devoted wife and mother. Her greatest joy was time spent with family. She was an avid reader, excellent baker, and seamstress. She enjoyed watching sports and cheering on the Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots.
Sarah is survived by her loving family: five children, Claude Rego (wife Arlene) of Bridgewater, MA, Gregory Rego of Taunton, MA, Sheila Machado of Brooklyn, NY, Cynthia Thibault of Fall River, MA, and Alan Rego (wife Barbara) of Woodbury, CT; five grandchildren, Kate Sampson (husband John), Beth Slater (husband Jarrod), Ashley Goldberg (husband Grady), Emily Rego, and Jacob Rego; six great grandchildren, Caiden, Teagan, Meryl, Quinn, Zane (Ziggy), and Eddy Jane; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Eric "Harry" Leite.
H er Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, May 2nd, in Holy Trinity Parish Church followed by her committal and entombment will at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum both in Fall River.
