Serafina Alves, 89, formerly of Fall River, passed away Friday after a long illness. Wife of Jose Alves, Jr. to whom she was married for 45 years. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel and Guilhermina Cabral. Besides her husband, she is survived by 3 children, Ana Moniz, Mary Lou Resendes (husband – Tony), Paul Alves (wife – Maria); 4 grandchildren, Ashley Alves, Melissa, Zena and Keith Resendes. She also leaves 3 great grandchildren, several siblings, nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, September 1st, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
