Sharla E. Schweyer, 85, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Kimwell Nursing Home following a long illness. Born in Akron, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Charles Gibitz and the late Olga (Keller) Gibitz.

Prior to her retirement she worked as a secretary in the banking industry for many years. An avid reader, she also loved music, shopping, home decorating, and, for a period of time, living in Florida. Sharla was always well-dressed, loved to laugh, and was always the "life of the party". Most notably, she was very involved in her church activities and truly valued the time she spent with family.

She leaves her loving daughters, Amy Janes and her husband, Mark, of Middletown, Rhode Island, and Sara Taber and her husband, Robert, of Dighton; her five grandchildren, Miles St. John, Seamus Fennelly, Lauren Fennelly, Anna Janes, and Madelyn Janes; two great-grandchildren, Forest St. John and Athena St. John; her sister, Elinor Cooper (late husband, Darrell) of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Thomas Thompson, Richard Gibitz, and Dutch Gibitz.

Her funeral arrangements were private.
