Shaun D. "Biscuits" Payton passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at his home in
Westport, MA. Born in Newport, Rhode Island, on August 8, 1978, he was the son of the late Evelyn
(Goodwin) Payton and the late Morris Walker. After spending his first few years in Newport, Shaun and
his family moved to Fall River, MA where he attended and graduated from Diman Regional Vocational
Technical High School, class of 1996, with his degree in Culinary Arts. During his high school years,
Shaun started to work at LePage's Seafood as an intern and remained there for almost 24 years,
finishing his career as a chef. Eric Lepage and his wife, Carol, along with his fellow co-workers,
became his extended family and LePage's Seafood became his second home.
In his spare time, Shaun enjoyed watching sports. His passion for all New England sports teams was
unwavering, especially for his beloved Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed traveling with his mother and
friends. Shaun was a friend to everyone he met. His heart was made of gold. His laughter was
contagious, and his jokes were never ending. He showed his love for his friends by sharing his passion
and talent for cooking with everyone he met. If there was a kitchen, Shaun could turn a meal into an
event and a friend into family.
Shaun is survived by his brother, Cheyenne Goodwin of Somerset [and his former wife, Theresa
(Reynolds) of Fall River]; his sister, Miriah Cotter of Peru, NY; his brothers, Richard Walker and Frankie
Tyler, both of Newport, RI; his sister, Brianna Moniz of California; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews;
his Lepage's Seafood family and several close friends whom considered family.
Shaun was predeceased by his loving mother Evelyn, and his father, Morris. Shaun was also a member of
the Nipmuc Native American Tribe. Calling hours were held in our Fall River Chapel on Friday, May 3rd.
His cremation was private.
