Silvina Moniz, 96, of Fall River, wife of the late Pedro Braga, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at St. Anne's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Povocao, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Joao Bragada and the late Angelina Moniz Pacheco. As a homemaker, she loved cooking and baking, especially her massa, malassadas, and biscoitos. Silvina also enjoyed gardening and traveling to such places as Canada and Portugal to visit her homeland. But what was most important to her was spending quality time with her loving family. She leaves: her children, Almesinda Barbosa and her husband, Crocino, Pedro Braga and his wife, Luisa, Joe Braga and his wife, Marylou, all of Fall River, Antonio Braga and his wife, Maria Jose, of Rhode Island, John Braga and his wife, Andrea, and Margarida Pereira and her husband, Jose, both of New Bedford; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother-in-law of the late Rosemary Braga and the last of nine children. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, August 17th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
