Sophia V. Beaulieu, of Somerset and formerly of Tiverton, RI, passed away on Saturday. Widow of Roland Beaulieu. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Lucas) Ventura. Sophia was one of the first registered ultrasound technologists in the country and was the Director of Diagnostic Imaging at Women and Infants Hospital, RI. She adored all animals and together with her husband, raised and rescued many cats and dogs. Her survivors include her beloved daughter and caregiver, Joan C. Macri; granddaughters, Cathy Macri Rose (husband – Mark) and Carolyn Macri Dube (husband – Daniel); great grandchildren, Nicholas, Alex and Christian Rose, Erica and Jessica Dube; and several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Gilbertha Pacheco, Hilda Barboza, Mary Raposa, Antone Medeiros and Matt Ventura and former wife of the late Joseph Piva. Her Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, October 30, in our Fall River Chapel followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
