Stanislaus Honore Emard, 96, of Somerset, husband of Lorraine (Correia) Emard, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2023 in the comforts of his home following a long illness. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Alfred Emard and the late Louise (Monte) Emard.
Prior to his retirement he was employed at Newport Naval Base in the maintenance department for many years. A United States Army Veteran, he proudly and bravely served his Country during WWII and Korea. He loved NASCAR, trips to the casino, and working in his yard. But most notably, Stanislaus led a very simple life and enjoyed spending quality time with all of his family.
Besides his loving wife of sixty-five years, he leaves his children, Jacqueline Davis and her husband, Christopher, of North Dartmouth, and Christopher Emard of Somerset; his four grandchildren, Phillip Emard, Janine Mercer, Shelby Emard, and Evan Davis; three great-grandchildren; his brother, Edward Emard of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Anthony P. Emard and brother of the late Norman Emard, Loretta Dube, and Florence King.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, March 28th, in Our Lady of Peace Parish at St. Patrick's Church in Somerset followed a private committal with military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery is Bourne. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Stanislaus's memory to: Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
