Obituary

Susan A. (Larrabee) Silva, 59, of Swansea, wife of John L. Silva, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at St. Anne's Hospital following a long illness. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Larrabee, Jr. and the late Geraldine (Medeiros) Larrabee.

Prior to her illness, she worked as a Customer Service Representative for a local insurance company for many years. She loved shopping, socializing, and decorating her home, especially for the holidays. She enjoyed trips to the theatre, apple picking at Sweet Berry Farm, listening to music from the 70's and 80's, and watching football with her family. What Susan enjoyed most was being home spending quality time with her family and her "grand cat" Mason.

Besides her loving husband of thirty-five years, she leaves her children, Stephanie A. Silva and John L. Silva, Jr., both of Swansea; her brothers, Charles H. Larrabee III and his wife, Sally of Baytown, TX, and Steven Larrabee and his wife, Hong Mei of Sulphur, LA; and many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, September 24th, at St. Francis of Assisi Church followed by her committal at Vinnicum Woods Cemetery both in Swansea. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Susan to support cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or via jimmyfund.org/gift.
