Suzanne Raposa

   Suzanne Raposa, 69, of Portsmouth, RI, passed away on August 3, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Raymond G. Thurston and the late Marjorie Mary (McCoomb) Thurston.

   A chef at the Newport Playhouse for over 20 years, before retiring in January of 2026, Suzanne had also worked for many years prior to that as a chef at her family’s restaurant, the Sportsman’s of Portsmouth, RI.

   She is survived by: two children, Shannon R. Raposa and Thomas H. Raposa both of Portsmouth, RI; a brother, R. Gerald Thurston of Portsmouth, RI; and several cousins.

   Private cremation arrangements were with the Silva-Faria Funeral Home.
