Sylvia L. Heroux, 74, of Fall River, former wife of the late Robert Heroux, passed away peacefully at Somerset Ridge Nursing Home following a long illness. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Barboza and the late Rose (Silvia) Barboza.

Prior to her retirement she worked for Verizon as a telephone operator for many years. An avid Red Sox fan, she also loved bingo, socializing, and her reception position at Truesdale Clinic. Sylvia was a true "homebody", enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives, beholding the humming birds, and simply being home. Most important to Sylvia was spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She leaves her loving son, David B. Heroux (Melanie) of Fall River; her grandchildren, Colin Heroux, Victoria Heroux, Andrew Heroux, and Mackenzie Heroux; one sister, Susan Darmody of Bristol; and her nephew, Evan Darmody. She was also the mother of the late Robert T. Heroux.

A public visitation period was held on Sunday, September 21st, in our Fall River Chapel. Her committal service and burial were private.
