Terence "Terry" Long, 54, of Westport and formerly of Fall River, passed away Saturday after an extended illness. He was the husband of Karen (McCarthy) Long, with whom he shared 31 years of marriage, and was the beloved father of Brendan J. Long of Fall River and Kevin J. Long of Westport. Born in Fall River, son of the late Honorable State Representative John J. Long and Clare P. (Coogan) Long. Terry worked for the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission for 28 years. Besides his wife and sons, Terry is survived by brothers, Atty. John P. Long of Westport, Stephen R. Long of Fall River and James J. Long of Westport; sisters, Susanne Gerson of Carlisle, MA and Annemarie Gonet of Attleboro as well as several nieces and nephews. On Tuesday, November 24, family and friends gathered at the Silva-Faria Funeral Home before attending a mass at Holy Name Church. Following the service, pallbearers John Francis Long, Perry Long, Patrick Long, Danny Long, Timmy Long, and PJ Santoro, brought Terry to his final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
