Obituary

Teresa P. Cook, 82, of Somerset and wife of the late James R. Cook, Sr., passed away peacefully on Friday, November 5, 2021 at home following a long illness. Born in Camden, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Joseph F. Bott, Sr. and the late Helen (Sullivan) Bott.

Prior to her retirement she was a receptionist at St. George's School in Middletown, Rhode Island, for many years. An avid reader, she also enjoyed being involved and active in local politics. Most notably, Teresa was a kind, caring, and generous person with a passion and unwavering devotion to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She leaves: her children, Dawn Custer and her husband, Chris, of Vermont, Robin Rodrigues and her husband, Michael, of Somerset, Christine Audette and her husband, Roger, of Rhode Island, and James R. Cook, Jr. and his wife, Jessica, of East Taunton; her five grandchildren, Jason Audette, Phillip Audette and his wife, Taylor, Kyle Audette, Sarah Rodrigues, and Reilly Cook; her two great-grandchildren, Avary Audette and Maebel Audette; her twin sister, Connie Steubing (late husband, Joseph) of New Jersey; one brother, Joseph F. Bott, Jr. and his wife, Laurie, of Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews including her niece, Michelle Downs, who was like a daughter to her. She was also the sister of the late Rosemarie and the late JoAnne.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Eduarda, Tiffany, Stacey, and Myranda for the exceptional care they provided for their mother during her illness and final days.

A private committal service was held on Wednesday, November 10th, at Nathan Slade Cemetery in Somerset. In lieu of flowers, Teresa would want us all to simply "Love the Lord our God with all your heart, all your mind, and all your soul".
