Obituary

Thelma Rose (Harding) Viera, known as "Linda" to her American family and friends, passed away on the 23rd of February 2024 after a long battle with dementia and other health issues. She was predeceased by her husband Francis ("Frank") Viera.

Born in Essex, England, Thelma was the daughter of the late Leslie A. and Iris (Wilson) Harding. Linda resided in the United States for 73 years, but she always held a place in her heart for her native land. She loved shopping on Friday nights, with Macy's being her favorite retail store and yard sales on Saturday mornings coming in second. Linda was an elegant lady, yet also a strong woman who could be feisty when occasion required – for make no mistake, she could swear with the best of them.

At the age of nineteen she married Frank and moved to America. Linda and Frank went on to raise three boys here in the states. Prior to her retirement, she worked in retail for many years; and after retiring, she babysat a granddaughter and various other children who referred to her and her husband as "Nan" and Frank.

Linda is survived by: three sons, Frank C. Viera (wife Patricia) of North Carolina, Michael A. Viera (wife Donna) of Fall River, and Steven A. Viera (wife Sharon) of Idaho; three siblings, H. Patricia Maidman, Michael Harding, and L. Anthony Harding all of Essex, England; five grandchildren, Frank Viera (wife Diana), Joshua Viera, Scott Viera (wife Carrie), Danielle Anderson (husband Jeffrey), and Leah Mello (husband Jared); seven great grandchildren, Blake & Brady Viera, Aiden, Rylen & Brycen Anderson, and London & Graceyn Mello; and many nieces and nephews in England. She was also predeceased by a sister, Beryl Cox.
