Theresa "Nana" Alves, 85, formerly of Watuppa Heights, passed away Friday after a long illness. Widow of Pierre A. Alves. Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Manuel and Joaquina (Leitao) Cruz. She was known for her love of animals. Mother of Marsha Bryan, Pierre Alves, Jr., Gail Barlow, Nadine Charette, Yvonne, Michael, Jacqueline, Jeffrey, Theresa and Christine Alves and the late Antone Alves; sister of the late Francisco Cruz, Maria Bundy and Palmira Drayton. Nana also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 7, in our Fall River Chapel followed by her committal at Oak Grove Cemetery.
