Obituary

Theresa C. (Silvestri) Oliveira, 91, of Fall River, passed away Sunday, January 14th 2024, following a long illness with Alzheimer's. She was the wife of the late Joseph S. Oliveira, Jr. to whom she was married for 60 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late John and Angelina (Gentile) Silvestri, she was a proud Brooklynite.

Theresa supported several school and civic activities while her children were young. She worked for 30 years as a teller and then in their loan department at Citizen's Savings (now BayCoast) Bank. In retirement, she showed her love for children and volunteered as a proud class "grandma" at the Fall River Talbot Middle School and William S Greene Primary school. Theresa was also a long, proud member of Loggia Vittorio Veneto of the Sons and Daughters of Italy Lodge in Fall River.

Beloved mother of Regina (Oliveira) Casey (husband-Alan) and John Oliveira (wife-Kris); grandmother of Jessica (Durand) Harte (husband-James), Andrew Durand, Kelley (Oliveira) Giannini (husband-Joseph); great-grandmother of Ella Rose Harte; sister of Grace (Silvestri) Ross and Anthony Silvestri. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 20th, in Holy Name Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
