Obituary

Therese L. Benevides, 87, of Somerset, widow of Edward Benevides, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital. Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred Hebert and the late Blanche L. (Nattinville) Hebert.  She resided in Somerset for most of her life.

Therese was employed for over 40 years as a printer with Ad-A-Day, a division of Carcross Company of Taunton.   After her retirement from Ad-A-Day, she was employed by H&L Bloom as a van driver for special needs children for several years.  She enjoyed staying active in the community by volunteering at the Annelle Delorme Hagerman Food Bank at the Church of Our Savior and organizing the Kennedy Terrace Coffee Hour.  Therese was a diehard Red Sox fan.  She was also an avid gardener and loved animals especially spending time with the families' pets and caring for stray cats.  Most of all, Therese loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson.

Therese is survived by two daughters: Deborah A. Pasternak (her husband David) and Lori J. Perry (her husband Jeffrey) both of Somerset; four grandchildren, Jocelyn M. Caufield (her husband Donald) of Somerset, Kendra L. Pasternak of San Diego CA, Evan E. Perry (his wife Lu Yu) of Assonet, Nina Kate Perry (her significant other Vincent Bucci) of Cranston RI and a great grandson, Hunter J. Caufield of Somerset.  She leaves behind four sisters, Irene Hebert Fernandes of Lakeville, Louise Hebert Renaud of Taunton, Maryann Hebert Nichols of North Dighton, Priscilla Hebert Neary of Taunton and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her late brothers and sister, Wilfred Hebert Jr., Wilfred Henry Hebert, Richard Hebert and Eleanor DeMoura.

Following her cremation, her cremains were buried at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Somerset. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Therese's memory to the Annelle Delorme Hagerman Food Bank at the Church of Our Saviour, 2112 County Street, Somerset, MA 02726.
