Therese "Terry"
Bissinger
d. May 28, 2024
Therese "Terry" Bissinger, 76, of Fall River, wife of Andrew Bissinger, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Charlton Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Normand Clement and the late Therese (Ouellette) Clement.
Prior to her retirement she worked for the City of Fall River as a secretary for the Assistant Superintendent of Schools for over 25 years. She had an unwavering Catholic faith, attended Notre Dame School, and was a proud graduate of Sacred Hearts Academy, class of 1966. One of the highlights of her life is a private audience she and her husband had with Pope John Paul II at the Vatican in 2003. Over the years, Therese made several meaningful friendships and was blessed with a group of friends with whom she lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed going on cruises, traveling, and birdwatching on her property. Most notably, Therese was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who instilled high morals and values in her children and loved spending time with her family, especially her great-granddaughter, with whom she shared a birthday.
Besides her husband of 55 years, she leaves her children, Lisa R. Clapper of Fall River and Karl C. Bissinger and his wife, Amelia, of North Providence; her three grandchildren, Thomas A. Teixeira, Lori Lee Teixeira, and Phillip J. Pacheco; one great-granddaughter, Korralee Ann Morrell; her sisters, Jeanne Dumont and Lucille Vanasse, both of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Edna Bielawa.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, June 4th, in St. Joseph's Church followed by a private cremation.
