Thomas J. Mello, 69, of Fall River, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 after a brief illness. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Ernest Mello, Jr. and the late Mary (Brenner) Mello. Prior to his retirement, he was a Union Carpenter, Local 1305, for the State of Massachusetts. He loved working hard and fishing. A quiet, friendly man, Tom was also multi-talented, particularly  mechanically and  structurally, having built many homes over his lifetime. Most notably, Tom was a great father and an excellent provider for his family. He leaves his loving daughter, Leila Mello of Fall River; his long-time companion of twenty-six years, Linda Vischio; his brother, David Mello and his companion, Anne Wicks, of Fall River; a sister, Susan McCarthy and her husband, Fred, of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews. Following his private cremation, a memorial gathering took place on Wednesday, October 23rd, in our Fall River Chapel.
