Obituary

Thomas H. Paterson, 69, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, husband of Hyechong (Hah) Paterson, passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, March 19, 2021 at home after a long illness. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas H. Paterson and the late Anne (Gilchrist) Paterson.

Prior to his illness and retirement, he owned and operated Paterson + Company, an architectural and design service which specialized in historic buildings for many years. He loved drawing, classic cars, photography, operating his drones, and flying small engine planes. He also enjoyed traveling extensively to such places as Switzerland, Paris, Italy, Budapest, Russia, and Scotland. But what was most important to Tom was spending quality time with his loving family.

Besides his wife of twenty-six years, he leaves: his daughter, Anastasia H. Paterson of Nashville, Tennessee; his sister, Penelope Blake of Atlanta, Georgia; stepbrother, William R. Barney III, of Atlanta, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Becky Holbrook, Devin Pressley, and step-brother of the late Prescott Barney.

His funeral arrangements were private. A Celebration of His Life will be held this summer on August 8, 2021 with details to follow as to where and time here on our website.
