Thomas Soares, 80, son of the late John & Mary (Avila) Soares, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital, after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Fall River, he was employed as a cook at various local area restaurants, including Al Mac Diner, for many years.

He served for a time in the US Army and the National Guard. Tom's favorite hobby was collecting things, especially Jesus' manger (crèche) figurine sets.

Tom is survived by 2 siblings, Manuel Soares (wife Kathleen) of Fall River & Madeline Soares of Minnesota, and many nieces & nephews. He was also a brother of the late: Mary Souza, Sally Arruda, John Soares, Gert Deda, Arthur Soares, Angie Imbriglio, Edward Soares, William "Butch" Soares, Patricia Luciana, and Robert Soares.

His cremation was private.
