Toufic "Toffee" Peter Attar, 87, son of the late Peter S. & Margaret (Joseph) Attar, passed away June 2, 2012 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. A US Army veteran of World War II and Purple Heart recipient, he took part in the D-day invasion on Omaha Beach and the Battle of the Bulge. Retired from the US Postal Service, he was a lifelong resident of Fall River, a member of the Lebanon American Society, and a parishioner of St Anthony of the Desert Church. Brother of Jamel Ellery of Salt Lake City, UT, George A. Attar of East Hampstead, NH, Lorraine Ridgely of Upper Marlboro, MD, Albert J. Attar of Somerset, Henry Attar of Swansea, and the late Alice Zitano, Jeanette Halliwell, Jamiel, Samuel & Nasiff Ossie Attar. Beloved uncle of 18 nieces & nephews, and many grand nieces & nephews. He selflessly cared for all his family before himself, and his kindness & loving generosity will be missed by all. His funeral ceremony was private. Relatives and friends attended a Memorial Liturgy on Saturday, June 30th, in St Anthony of the Desert Church.
