Valdemiro P. Torres, 49, of Fall River, died Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Charlton Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was the husband of Lucia (Pacheco) Torres. Born in Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores, son of Maria do Carmo (Mota) Pacheco Torres of St Michael and the late Manuel Pacheco Torres, he emigrated to Fall River in 1995. Employed with Mon Landscaping of Westport for about 10 years, he loved animals and farming. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by: children, Tobias & Laura Torres both of Agua Retorta, St Michael; stepchildren, Priscilla Sousa (and her husband Eddie) of Palm Coast, FL, Tony & Brian Sousa both of Boston; siblings, Eduardo & Joao Torres of St Michael, and Cidalia Furtado of Fall River; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and his companion, Ana Costa. His Funeral Mass was offered on Monday, May 4, in St Anthony of Padua Church. His cremation followed.
