After a long journey with Alzheimer's disease, Veronica Ferreira, wife of the late Lawrence Ferreira, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, at Catholic Memorial Home, on Friday, February 9, 2018.

Born and raised in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late John and Veronica (Panocz).

Veronica or 'Ronnie', as she was known by many, was an extraordinary woman with a distinctive voice and a heart of gold.  Although Alzheimer's took her memories of people, places and things, her family will cherish their memories of her endless love of family, compassion for those less fortunate, her hilarious humor and beautiful creative talents.  With her generous spirit, she gave without hesitation, never wanting anything in return.  She had an endless love for her children and grandchildren; and most of all, for 'her Larry' with whom she shared 53 years of marriage before his passing in 2009.

She will forever be in the hearts of her children, Donna Ramunno (David), Karyl Benoit (George) and Lawrence Ferreira (Ronda), her grandchildren, Elisabeth, Angela, Adam, Samuel, Leah, Abigail and Jack, as well as her great grandchildren, Violet and Elijah.

Veronica's family would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank the staff at the Catholic Memorial Home for their outstanding care and compassion shown to their mother during her extended stay.

A prayer service was held on Monday, February 12th, in our Fall River Chapel followed by her burial at Saint Patrick Cemetery.
