Obituary

Veronica A. Medeiros, 83, of Somerset, wife of Ernest P. Medeiros, passed away at home on Friday, June 13, 2025, surrounded by family. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late William Corboy and the late Hazel (King) Corboy, she resided in Somerset for the past 16 years.

Loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Veronica had also worked as a housekeeper for a number of years at the Dominican Academy Convent formerly of Fall River. She enjoyed travelling, especially the many (24) cruises she went on with her husband over the years. Veronica was also an avid animal lover.

Besides her husband of 45 years, she is survived by: four children, Christine Beirola of Somerset, Ellen Bettencourt (husband John) of Somerset, Kim Dufour of Florida, and Keith Dias (wife Michelle) of Florida; two siblings, (twins) Mary Cordeiro (husband Bruce) of Westport and James Corboy of Fall River; five grandchildren, John, Chad, Ashley, Ryan, and Gavin; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Veronica was also predeceased by a son, Vance Dias, and a sister, Phyllis Souza.

Following a private cremation, a visitation period to commemorate Veronica's life was held on Thursday, June 19th, in our Fall River Chapel. Her Memorial Funeral Mass was celebrated the following morning at the Church of the Holy Spirit also in Fall River. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Veronica's memory to the Alzheimer's Association MA/NH Chapter, 320 Nevada Street, Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460; 800-272-3900; https://www.alz.org/ .
