Victoria died peacefully at her home on July 6th, 2021 with her beloved dog, Jonah, by her side. Her suffering had ended and she was taken to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Born in Bretanha, Sao Miguel, Azores on February 15,1937 to Manuel Martin and Mary Rodrigues, Victoria was the youngest of ten children. At nine years of age she emigrated with her family to Somerset, MA. She is survived by her sister Mary Araujo and husband Edward, of Somerset, MA; brother John Martin (late wife, Hilda ) of Vernon, CT and was predeceased by her siblings: Linda Santos, Marion Carvalho, Phylis Craveiro, Mary Vivieros, Manuel Martin, Joseph Martin and Louis Martin.
Prior to retirement, Victoria worked as a wife and mother, a seamstress in the garment industry, as a Health Care Aide and completed her career at Boston Style Hair Salon. After retirement she enjoyed going for long walks with her dogs. She always loved dogs and had one by her side throughout her life. She also enjoyed cooking and making elaborate desserts for family and friends. She appreciated the Beauty of this world and surrounded herself with it's colors in many forms. She loved the ocean, with it's waves and sounds. Also she enjoyed reading at home and attending Grace Gospel Church in Somerset.
The joy and loves of her life were her late husband John F Camara, to whom she was married for 57 years, her loving daughters, Deborah Camara of Peterborough,New Hampshire and Kathleen Camara of Turners Falls, MA, her three grandchildren whom she adored, Jacob John Camara of Eugene, OR, Nathaniel William Davis and wife Tonya Lucas of Chicago, IL,and Oriana Victoria Camara of Boothbay Harbor, ME.
Her Funeral Service was held on Monday, July 12th, in our Somerset Chapel followed by her committal and subsequent burial alongside her late husband John at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Somerset. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Swansea Animal Shelter, 68 Stevens Road in Swansea, MA, 02777. Telephone 508 679-6446.
Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person expressions of kindness and support.
