Virgilio P. Amaral, of Seekonk, the husband of the late Maria Ana (Cunha) Amaral, passed away at home surrounded by his family at the age of 89. Born in Ponta Garca, he was a son of the late Francisco and Irene (Caetano) Amaral. Mr. Amaral was a "cantoneiro". He is survived by his children: Helena Pacheco and her husband Jose, Aida Cabral and her husband Raymundo both of Westport, Antonio Amaral and his wife Ana of New Bedford, Natalia Oliveira and her husband Manuel of Seekonk, Leonor Sousa and her husband Jose Eduardo, Paulina Amaral and her husband Ricardo Ferreira, and Graca Duarte and her husband John, all of Fall River. He was the grandfather of seventeen and great-grandfather of 17 as well. He was the brother of Luis Amaral and Gloria Costa both of Canada. Mr. Amaral was also the brother of the late Joao Amaral, Jose Amaral, Francisco Amaral, Angelina Bento, and Estafana Braga. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, June 19th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
