Virginia B. Almeida, 81, of Fall River, wife of Manuel M. Almeida, passed away at her daughter's home in Westport on January 16, 2021 after a long illness. Born in St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Antonio Carlos Botelho and the late Maria Margarida (de Sousa) Botelho, she emigrated to Fall River in 1965.

Though she had worked a short while in her younger days, at Trudy and Milton Bradley, she enjoyed being a homemaker most of her life.  Virginia especially loved caring for, and spending time with, her grandchildren.

Besides her husband, of 58 years, she is survived by: four children, Manuel A. Almeida (partner Kenneth DaSilva) of Berlin, NH, Lucy Sousa (husband John) of Westport, Margarida Martins (husband Louis) of East Freetown, and David Almeida (wife Lisa) of Westport; seven grandchildren, Tanya Sousa, Joshua Sousa, Timothy Sousa, Tyler Martins, Sara Martins, Benjamin Almeida, and Cameron Almeida; one great granddaughter, Elyse; many nieces and nephews. She also leaves several siblings.
