Vivian Silvia, 92, of Swansea, widow of Manuel M. Silvia, died 6/3/15 at Somerset Ridge Nursing Center. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Alvaro & Georgianna (Couto) Morgado, she was a lifelong resident of Swansea, raised on her family's farm. She worked for various mills in the local textile industry, including the former Darwood Mfg for about 20 years, and was a member of ACTWU (now UNITE). She had enjoyed volunteering at Somerset Ridge for 10 years. She leaves: 2 children, Gerard N. Silvia (wife Donna) of No. Smithfield, RI, and Teresa M. Soares (husband Richard) of Somerset; a brother, John Morgado of Swansea; 8 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. Also sister of the late Mary Vasconcelos & Norbert Morgado. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, June 9th, in St. John of God Church floowed by her committal at Nathan Slade Cemetery.
