Wayne Edmond
Travassos
d. Mar 12, 2018
Chicopee
Wayne Edmond Travassos, 64, husband of Teauila (Boutwell) Travassos, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday morning at his home in Chicopee, MA.
Born in Fall River, he was the son of Barbara Travassos and the late Edmond Travassos. In his younger years, Wayne worked as a manager at Pool Silver in Fall River and was the vice president of Composite Tech in CT (which made the first taped floors for the space shuttle).
In addition to being a great son, brother, and uncle, Wayne was the best husband and Dad ever, a super Papa to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a great music man.
After forming, singing, and playing drums in his first bands, Desperado and Northern Comfort, at the former China Royal Restaurant, Wayne met his wife Teauila and began Teauila's Hawaii Luau and Hawaiian floor show. This show was a major accomplishment for Wayne and his family and helped to spread Hawaiian and Samoan customs along the east coast (from Johhny Yee's Restaurant in Cape Cod to The Hawaiian Inn in Daytona Beach, Florida) for over 20 years. While living and performing in Daytona Beach, Florida, Wayne also served as the president of the Chamber of Commerce there. Wayne will always be loved and missed dearly. Wayne leaves behind: his wife and best friend Teauila; sons, Christopher and Alika (Alex); daughters, Julia, Evalani, and Heather; grandchildren, Calvin, Darrin, Dwayne, Kiana, Dano, Alika, Issack, Andrew, Danye, Devonte, Keila, Akira, Rachel, and Maia; great grandchildren Riley, Kolokeo, Aalya, Kai, Rosealani, and Emma; sisters, Susan Landry Kelly (husband Robert) and Christine Deslauriers (husband Raymond); nephew, Sneaker; niece, Amy; and a great-niece, Harper. He was also the father of the late Duffy Rose. His Funeral Service was held on Sunday, March 18th, during calling hours at our Fall River Chapel. His private cremation followed.
