Obituary

Whilamena "Whilly" D'Ambrosio, 90, of Fall River , passed away
unexpectedly on Christmas morning. Wife of Albert D'Ambrosio to whom
she had been married for 63 years. Born in Dighton, daughter of the
late Manuel and Mary (Martin) Catabia. A long time active member of Holy
Rosary Church and their Women's Guild, she was the recipient of the
Marian Medal in 2001. Having had a member of her family with polio, she was recognized for her service by the March of Dimes in helping to organize their "Mothers March on Polio" for 15 years. Mother of Dr. Joseph D'Ambrosio (former wife-Patricia) of Kalamazoo, MI and Florida, Mary D'Ambrosio of Westport, Robert D'Ambrosio (companion-Sheila Conlon) of Dartmouth and Albert D'Ambrosio (wife-Kim) of Berkley; grandmother of Joshua, Jennifer, Stephanie and Nicholas D'Ambrosio; great grandmother of Chloe and Markus; sister of Albon Catabia (wife-Alice) of Fall River, Laura Courcier (husband-Jim) of Somerset and Florida and the late Joseph, Manuel, Alfred, Louis and George Catabia, Beatrice Butler and Marie DeMoia, aunt of the late Stephen Courcier and Donna Catabia Viveiros. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, December 30, in Holy Rosary Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
