Wilfred "Freddy" Melendez, 54, of Fall River, husband of Jennifer (LePage) Melendez, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 28, 2019 as a result of suffering a head injury which occurred on May 3rd. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was a son of Felicita (Rivera) Melendez and the late Francisco Melendez.  An avid sports fan, particularly of football, Freddy's favorite team was the Buffalo Bills. He was also very social and a jokester, always enjoying making people laugh. But what was truly most important to him was spending time with his loving family. Besides his wife of fourteen years, he leaves: his daughters, Teala W. Karr and her husband, Michael, of Iowa and Hailey J. Melendez of Swansea; his sons, Nathan N. Melendez and Lucas C. Melendez, both of Fall River; one grandson, Michael Karr; sisters, Aida Magan and her husband, Thomas, of Florida, Lydia Melendez and her companion, Kevin Maloney, of New Hampshire, Marisol Melendez and Yvette Melendez, both of Fall River; brothers, Frank Melendez and Abraham Melendez and his wife, Fatima, both of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. His Memorial Gathering will take place on Monday, July 15, 2019 in the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St., from 5-7 PM.
