Obituary

William P. Carvalho, 84, formerly of Laurel Street in Fall River, passed away on January 25, 2008, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Angelina (Medeiros) Carvalho. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Manuel Carvalho and the late Maria (Pontes) Carvalho. A lifelong resident of Fall River, he was a self employed stone mason and had also worked for many years for Flint Tile as an installer. William was a Marine Corps Veteran and a parishioner of the former St. Elizabeth's Church on Tucker Street in Fall River. Surviving family members include his son William B. Carvalho and his wife Rosalina "Rose" (Rocha) Carvalho of Westport, three brothers, George Carvalho of Tiverton, RI, Fred Carvalho of Portsmouth, RI, and Tom Carvalho of Michigan, two sisters, Elaine Gajoli of Fall River, and Evelyn Gleaton of Florida. He also leaves three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held in Espirito Santo Church. Pallbearers were Mike and Zack Comeau, David Lima, Robert Manuels, Jamie Manuels and William Jay Carvalho. Committal services were held at Notre Dame Cemetery.
