William Lopes, 84, of Somerset, died on March 12, 2008 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Husband of the late Philomena "Connie" Lopes. Born in Tiverton, RI, son of the late Manuel & Helena (Correia) Lopes. WWII Veteran of the US Army, worked for Copper Craft Guild, Mason's Furniture and No. Tiverton Liquor Store. He sang and played guitar with the Brad Tabor Quartet, The Roulettes and the Four Tones and was a member of the Musicians Union of Fall River, Local 216 AFM and the Knights of Columbus in Tiverton. Survivors include sons, Robert W. Lopes of Somerset, David Lopes of Swansea and Steven Lopes of Westport, sister, Olive Silvia of Tiverton, RI, grandchildren, Dawn, David Jr., Christopher, Michael, Briannah and Joseph Lopes, a great grandson, a great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.He was also brother of the late John, Manuel, Daniel J., Antone and Edelle Lopes, Mary Hannon, Christine Souza, Clementine Perry and Sister Rose Lopes. His funeral Mass was celebrated at Holy Ghost Church in Tiverton, RI. Pallbearers were David, Christopher, Michael and Paul Lopes, Robert and Joe Cabral. His committal services were held at Pocasset Cemetery.
