Obituary

William Henry McLean, Jr., age 60, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2012, at the Roger Williams Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, following an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of Amy B. (Bishins) McLean of Bristol, Rhode Island. Born in New York City, he was a son of Vesta T. (Tittmann) McLean of Basking Ridge, NJ, and the late William Henry McLean. A resident of Tiverton, Rhode Island, for many years, he moved to Bristol in 2007. Alum of the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut, class of 1970, William earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University in 1976, and was a member of the Zeta Psi Fraternity. He was the Vice President and Treasurer of McClean Supply Inc., in Wareham, Massachusetts. William was a member of the Congregation and served on the Finance Committee of the Unitarian Memorial Church, located at 102 Green Street in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, and was also a member of the Short Hills Club in Short Hills, New Jersey. He was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics, an automobile enthusiast, a lover of his four poodles, and spent much of his time traveling the world. In addition to his wife and mother, surviving family members include his daughter, Jenny B. McLean, and son, Robert W. McLean, both of Bristol, RI, his brother, Eugene McLean, sister-in-law Deborah McLean, and their children, John and Sarah McLean, all of Exeter, New Hampshire. Relatives and friends gathered on Saturday, September 22, 2012, to attend a Memorial Service at the Unitarian Memorial Church, in Fairhaven, MA. His cremation was private.
