William R. Costa, 86, of Somerset, husband of Irene (Medeiros) Costa, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018. He was born in Ajuda Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores and was a son of the late Manuel and Alexandrina (Martins Pimental), he was a laborer in construction for most of his life. William was a member of the Holy Ghost Society for many years.

Besides his wife of sixty years, he leaves: his children, James Costa of Plymouth, Anna Costa of Fall River, Paula  LeBreux  (husband-Henry) of Fall River, Jennifer Sousa (husband-Luciano) of Somerset,  and his son in law Antonio Gervasio of Fall River; 10 grandchildren, Robert Gervasio, Jamie Costa, Angela Reis, Jeffrey Costa, Kristen Crossman, Kelsey Soares, Justin Reis, Alex Sousa, Tatianna Sousa and Jordan Sousa; 5 great grandchildren,  Nevaeh Holley, Phoebe Costa, Amari Reis, Maeve Costa and Nora Soares; siblings, Luis Costa of Fall River, and Odilia Pavao of Somerset.  He was the father of the late Nancy Gervasio, and the brother of the late Manuel Costa, Maria Tavares, Jamie Costa, and Bento Farias.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, December 12th, in St. John of God Church in Somerset followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
